James Horner brought all his experience with nautical and adventure themes to create one of the most popular film scores in history. It begins with themes inspired by Celtic music that evoke both the nautical theme and the terrifying realization that the Titanic sank on that cold April night in 1912. Horner's music embraces the excitement and wonder (3. "Southampton"), love and romance (4. "Rose"), confidence and exuberance (6. "Take Her To Sea, Mr. Murdoch") and disaster and destruction (10. "Death Of Titanic") after the fateful collision of the late great ship "White Star" with an iceberg. The entire album is instrumental, with the exception of "My Heart Will Go On," sung by Celine Dion. The second disc contains 15 tracks by the chamber ensemble I Salonisti, the Titanic's ship's band.
