"Rockbuster" (double LP, vinyl in yellow and purple) was the name of one of those typical sampler portraits of the label circa 1970. A two-minute banger called "An Awful Lot Of Woman" flew out of the purple LP box. The band: Skid Row (from Belfast, Northern Ireland). Guitarist and vocalist: GARY MOORE, only seventeen years old, since then and since the release of this band's only two albums, well known in the string scene. After that, his paths crossed several times with those of Phil Lynott (a short-lived member of Skid Row) and his band Thin Lizzy, playing on three albums with Colosseum II and also recording a total of three LPs under his own name, but it wasn't until he signed with Virgin Records that his solo career really took off. "Corridors Of Power" was the title of his first masterpiece in 1982, followed by rock classics like "Wild Frontier" and "After The War", which also topped the German album charts. His return to the blues also brought him a lot of success in the charts. The album "Still Got The Blues" shot up to number 4 in Germany in 1990, the subsequent "After Hours" even reached number 2. And last but not least, in live performances GARY MOORE has always proved that he is in a class by himself.No wonder that each of these 3 segments, Hard Rock, Blues, Live, is dedicated to one 3CD "Platinum Collection". The Rock disc offers a great blend of hard rock and anthemic ballads, and with the song "Johnny Boy" also Irish tones. The blues disc (featuring guest appearances by Albert and B.B. King) proves once again that GARY MOORE is one of the best in the business. Finally, the Live Disc is a guitar ride that is second to none. All in all, this is a compilation packed with almost 4 hours of playing time under the motto "More of Moore".
