The eternally volatile Bob Dylan never explicitly stated what exactly constitutes his "other side", to which the title of his second album from 1964 refers. But the whimsical moods, hallucinogenic prose, humorous points of view, transparent missteps and offhand themes give a pretty clear idea of what the Bard was hinting at when, after releasing two highly intellectual, socially pioneering sets full of protest songs, he broke free of the label of reluctant spokesman for a generation and folk savior.
