And Julia Fischer was also twice awarded the ECHO Klassik prize. And so two highly acclaimed musicians will meet here. In the case of Richard Strauss's symphony "Till Eulenspiegel" and Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 "Pastorale", David Zinman is in his element; indeed, he is considered a reference conductor for both composers. This is all the more so as he conducts the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich, with which he was associated as chief conductor for 19 years. This live recording documents Zinman's last official concert as chief conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra.
