When AC/DC stopped in Buenos Aires in December 2009 for three concerts of their "Black Ice" world tour, the Australian rock legends not only had a lot of new songs from their 15th studio album "Black Ice" in their luggage, but also ended a 13-year (!) concert hiatus in the Argentine capital. Not surprisingly, the 200,000 tickets for this rock spectacle sold out in record time. Now, under the title "AC/DC Live At River Plate", a breathtaking recording of this mega-event in all respects has been released on DVD and Blu-Ray, featuring nineteen songs (from "T.N.T" to "Hells Bells" and "Thunderstruck" to "Rock 'N Roll Train") with a playing time of 110 minutes. In addition to the spectacular behind-the-scenes footage, the DVD also includes a bonus featurette entitled "The Fan, The Roadie, The Guitar Tech & The Meat," in which the band, the tour crew and AC/DC fans get to speak. For the live footage, which was directed by David Mallet (David Bowie, Queen, Kiss, etc.), 32 HD cameras were used. The review , "Live At River Plate now shows breathtaking footage from this mega-event, the concert lasted just under two hours, during which all the hits from earlier times were of course performed in addition to several new songs from the Black Ice album."
